Senior Engineer (AI-Native, High Velocity)

We're hiring a Senior Engineer to ship features and help product design new ones — quickly, cleanly, and repeatedly. This is an IC role, but the ceiling is uncapped. As one of three engineers at a pre-seed startup, your impact will be massive. You will help define our engineering culture and velocity.

What you'll do

• Ship product features rapidly and reliably.
• Design clean, scalable database schemas (Postgres).
• Build performant search systems (Elasticsearch).
• Use Replit + Codex + LLM tools as primary dev environment.
• Review, refine, and productionize AI-generated code.
• Architect systems that scale without becoming brittle.
• Contribute to agent-based systems and LLM integrations.
• Improve UX through thoughtful engineering suggestions.
• Write clear PRs and release announcements.
• Communicate constantly and clearly in Slack.

Must-haves

• 5+ years professional software engineering experience.
• Strong software architecture fundamentals.
• Deep experience with Postgres (indexes, performance, schema design).
• Strong experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience building with Rails (Hotwire/Stimulus a plus).
• Experience deploying and operating systems on AWS.
• Proven ability to ship quickly and frequently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience building or operating LLM-powered agents.
• Heavy personal user of ChatGPT or similar tools.
• Experience with AI-native development workflows (Replit, Codex, etc.).
• Experience designing secure or self-hosted enterprise deployments.
• Startup experience (especially early-stage).
